Mixed berry and granola yoghurt popsicles

Top shot of berry, granola and yoghurt popsicles with a bowl of granola on the side.

My kids are loving these berry yoghurt popsicles at the moment. We’re still enjoying lots of hot summer weather and these frozen pops make a delicious and refreshing snack. Homemade snacks are always a winner because you can control exactly what goes into them, and often homemade is just tastier than store-bought.

Indulgent chocolate brownie trifle (for people who love dessert but don’t like trifle!)

Individual chocolate trifle recipe with chocolate mousse, chocolate brownies, ice cream, mini meringues and berries for people who don't like traditional trifle

It’s my last post for the year and of course it had to be a festive recipe. I’ve been busy in the kitchen baking edible gifts and trying to do as much advance prep as I can for Christmas dinner and if you’re there too I hope it’s going smoothly! We’re ending the year on a sweet note with a recipe that’s inspired by a classic. Let’s face it, trifle is wildly popular at this time of the year but (confession time) I’m really not a fan. I think it’s the soggy combination of boozy finger biscuits, custard and jelly and the piles of cream on top that give me the heebie-jeebies, and it’s just not a dessert that I’ve ever taken to. There are very few dishes that I’ll avoid but when it comes to trifle I’m on a strict “no thanks” diet, ha!

The easy recipe below will show you how to bake the meringue and create these irresistible and elegant sweet treats at home.

Easter treats recipe round up

I’ve been so looking forward to this Easter weekend and a chance to slow down, catch my breath for a few days and enjoy time with my family. We’re keeping things very simple this year without all the fuss and frills, but there will still be plenty of treats to enjoy. I decided to put together a round up of decadent Easter dishes that you can make over the coming weekend.

Apple tart

This beautiful spring dessert is fit for high tea! Apple tart does require a little time and effort, but you’ll be rewarded with a show stopping treat. The base is a sweet shortcrust pastry that can be made in a food processor (love that) which is filled with creamy vanilla bean crème pâtissière. This is topped with slices of apple and an apricot jam glaze – an absolute treat.

Small batch chocolate liqueur brownies

We’ve had these grown-up dessert brownies on repeat lately. The batter itself only takes a few minutes to mix together, and the brownies are topped with a layer of smooth dark chocolate ganache. I added a splash of chocolate liqueur to the brownies and the ganache for extra richness – so good!

Lemon meringue pie

Hi foodies! I’ve just arrived back from a fabulous trip to the U.K. – what a treat! I spent most of my time in London getting reacquainted with the city that was my home for a few years after I got married, and I was reminded of how much I loved living there! I’ll share a few photos in my next blog post.

Onto the recipe, and if I had to choose my top three desserts this would absolutely be one of them!! I have always loved lemon meringue pie. It’s such a crowd pleaser too – whether we’re entertaining or I’ve made one as a treat for the family it’s always a hit. This is a bog standard recipe and the one I’ve been making for years and years. I never thought to post it here, but when I shared some pics of one I’d made on Instagram recently I had a few people asking me to share my recipe… here you go everyone! 😉

Nutella cheesecake mousse

With so many of my favourite treats in one title this dessert just has to be amazing, right? It was also World Nutella Day earlier this week (so worthy of a food holiday) and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner this seemed like the perfect recipe to post this week.
