BOO! It’s Halloween tomorrow, and kiddies all around are looking forward to the big day! My kids are putting the finishing touches on their costumes and planning their walking route around the neighbourhood, it really is lovely to see them so excited. This latest recipe is a Halloween treat that kids, both young and old, can get behind!
When it comes to quick and easy bakes crunchies are my go-to, especially when baked goods are required for school events. I tend to have all the ingredients on hand and kids just love them!
My kids get very excited when I take the stand mixer out to make homemade bread, they can’t get enough of it! These kaleidoscopic brioche buns are bright and bold but there’s nothing spooky about the flavour – I mean, is there anything better than enjoying a soft, fresh bread roll that’s still warm from the oven?
Ah, I see the weekend on the horizon! We love Fridays around here. The end of the work week, no homework to worry about and a chance to kick back and engage relaxation mode. Friday nights are often movie night around here, and this pizza is regularly requested by the kids. As tempting as it is to rather pick up the phone and order in (and don’t get me wrong, we do that too!) this pizza is worth making from scratch and actually doesn’t require too much effort in terms of hands on cooking. It’s super delicious – perfect movie night food!
Last year I was asked to make two hundred individually wrapped star cookies for a school fundraiser and I only realised recently that I haven’t yet shared the recipe! It’s a very easy sugar cookie recipe, but the really fun part is decorating the baked cookies with marbled icing and sprinkles to make cute and unique tea time treats that are sure to delight!
Last month my daughter celebrated her 10th birthday – quite the milestone! It was so wonderful to be able to celebrate with friends again this year, after a very long break from social gatherings, and we hosted a tropical disco party complete with a flamingo cake to mark the occasion.
I hope you’re all settling into the new year and 2022 has gotten off to a smooth start! Personally, I’m still trying to get back into work mode, but it’s tricky with the kids at home on holiday. They will be returning this week though, and that means that lunch boxes will be added back onto the daily to-do list!
