When it comes to quick and easy bakes crunchies are my go-to, especially when baked goods are required for school events. I tend to have all the ingredients on hand and kids just love them!

I’m riffing off one of my favourite childhood cookie recipes this week and lemme tell ya, these cookies disappeared so quickly – we couldn’t stop snacking on them! I’ve used small bar-one chunks as the add-in here and they go deliciously chewy and gooey in the oven.
What happens when you take a family childhood cookie recipe and give it a Nutella update? Chocolatey magic, that’s what! Thumb cookies are such a nostalgic bake for me, usually flavoured with almond essence and filled with sticky apricot or strawberry jam. We made and enjoyed them often as kids, and when I taught my own children how to make them they loved them too. Such fun to make!
Last year I was asked to make two hundred individually wrapped star cookies for a school fundraiser and I only realised recently that I haven’t yet shared the recipe! This is one of my all time favourite cookie recipes. It’s just so easy to make, I always have the ingredients on hand and this recipe is a winner with everyone who tries it! I’m talking about my shortbread cookie recipe which I have baked dozens of times.

Let’s fit one more recipe in before the end of the year shall we? I’ve been seeing so many beautiful holiday bakes over on Instagram lately, which has given me even more inspiration to get baking (not that I need much motivation in that department). Cookies and Christmas just go together perfectly!
Bakers, I’ve got a goodie for you this week. These melt-in-the-mouth chocolate cookies are a sublime tea time treat and lots of fun to make too. I based the recipe on these custard and vanilla bean sandwich cookies. These were so popular when I published them last year that I decided to tweak the recipe slightly and create a chocolate version.
Halloween is just around the corner and we had a huge amount of fun creating this bumper post just for the occasion! My kids went nuts for these cookie designs and if you have little ones at home I’m sure they’ll love them too.
