Just five more sleeps until Christmas Day foodies! Are you excited? For this, my last post of the year I have rounded up ten of my favourite Christmas desserts and snacks for you to make and enjoy these holidays. There is even something for the kiddies and some no-bake options if you aren’t in the mood to fire up your oven.
I will be taking a short break to spend some time with the fam but will be back in January with some brand new recipes… ooh, it’s going to be good! In the meantime I wish you a very happy and peaceful festive season and thank you for reading this year! Eat good food, have fun and stay safe! x
1.) Mince pie tart with Christmas custard
If you love mince pies then this giant mince pie tart topped with pastry stars is just the dessert for you. It is served with a delicious Christmas custard which is delicately flavoured with cinnamon, cloves and orange zest.
2.) Christmas phyllo crackers with salted caramel dipping sauce
Wow your Christmas guests with these adorable phyllo pastry crackers filled with fruit mince and served with a salted caramel dipping sauce. Pile them on a plate, dust them with icing snow and watch them disappear!
Sweet pastry + dark chocolate + Nutella = this sensational chocolate dessert. Enough said!
4.) Rosé poached pears with white chocolate sauce
This is the perfect dessert to enjoy over a hot Christmas or for those who don’t fancy traditional festive puds. Served with spoonfuls of rosé syrup and a decadent white chocolate sauce.
A Christmas tradition from my childhood.. the kids will love making and decorating (and eating) festive cookies for a Christmas biscuit tree. Now where did I leave my edible glitter?
6.) Sugar and spice Christmas pecans
These incredibly moreish (you have been warned) pecans are perfect for festive snacking and make a wonderful edible gift. You’ll go nuts for ’em!
7.) Vanilla bean and almond meringues with mixed berry sauce
Gorgeous melt-in-the mouth almond meringues and sharp berry sauce make a delicious and light summer Christmas dessert. (The red and white colour scheme is a bonus!)
It wouldn’t be Christmas in our house without a batch of this stuff. This rocky road comes fully loaded with caramels, shortbread, cranberries and pistachios. Stretchy pants recommended.
9.) Cranberry and white chocolate crunchies
As perfect for holiday nibbling as they are for all of those end of year parties and get-togethers. Good old fashioned chewy crunchies with a Christmas spin.
10.) No-bake chocolate mousse tart
One of my favourites on this list for being so delicious and not only that but gluten free and low sugar too! This “chocolate cloud of deliciousness” requires no baking and can be prepared ahead of time – and will be on my Christmas menu this year for sure!
